(b,d)Equation of circle passing through (0, 0) and (1, 0) is
x 2 + y 2 – x + 2fy = 0 .......(i)
x 2 + y 2 = 9 ......(ii)
(i) & (ii) touch each other.
so equation of Radical axis is x = 2fy + 9 ......(iii)
line (iii) is also tangent to the circle (ii)
∴ on solving (ii) & (iii), we get
(1 + 4f 2 )y 2 + 36fy + 72 = 0 .......(iv)
∴ D = 0 ⇒ f = ±
